/bike-hire on the Wix site sold day hire from a stated fleet of fourteen Kona Blast bikes (2018 model year in the snapshot). That fleet is not a fact we can stand behind in 2026. This page keeps the URL and answers the real question: when to hire, when to bring your own, and how alpine e-bike rules actually read.

You Yangs and Lysterfield are purpose-built and well signed. A modern hardtail or a short-travel trail bike is enough for the green and blue majority. If you do not own one, hire from a Melbourne or Geelong shop for the day, or ask us to include hire in a guided day. We will not publish a dollar figure we have not confirmed this month.
Parks Victoria does not run a bike counter at the gate. Hire is a private transaction.

Mt Buller states that pedal-assist bikes meeting EN15194 or with a motor of no more than 250 watts are permitted, and that throttle bikes are not. The same page notes you can hire an eMTB from All Terrain Cycles when that shop is open on the mountain. Falls Creek and Mystic have their own hire desks when in season. Use the operator in front of you.
Gravity days want a bike with front and rear suspension — Mt Buller’s words. A rigid hire hardtail on International is how holidays end early.
What to check before you pay a deposit
- Wheel size and your height, not just “medium”
- Brake condition and tyre tread
- Whether the hire includes a helmet that meets Australian standard
- Whether you may take the bike to a second park the next day
- Insurance excess — read it; we will not summarise a shop’s PDS
The hijacked WordPress URL /what-type-of-wheels-for-a-commodore/ 301s here because it is the only bike-adjacent salvage on that spam list. If you arrived from there, you are in the right place: trail bikes, not Commodores.
