Cross-country at Buller is not the leftover terrain beside the gravity lines. It is most of the published kilometre count.
The official report lists beginner village trails (Family 3 km, Picnic, One Tree Hill, Soul Revival), a long intermediate set (Delatite River Trail 12 km, Misty Twist 2.6 km, Clancy’s Run, Gang Gangs, Woolybutt, Trigger Happy, River Spur, Snowgums) and advanced wilderness pieces (Stonefly 10 km, Australian Alpine Epic 46 km).
A pedal day that respects that list:
- Warm up on Family / Picnic so you see how the mountain signs junctions
- Link intermediate trails that return to the village or to a known shuttle stop
- Only add Stonefly if the group has already ridden technical alpine root and rock
- Treat the Epic as its own day — /mt-buller-epic
The resort notes most trails are shared. Horses get room. Walkers appear on the same dirt you just rolled. That is the XC manners the old product page never had space to write.
