Falls Creek Mountain Bike Park is the alpine end of the Wild Week. The resort’s own page is the source:
- 50 km of gravity trails in Alpine National Park
- Designed and built by World Trail
- Ride-in, ride-out village — trails start and finish in the resort
- More than 10 km deliberately built for new riders
- Skyline: 5 km gravity trail built summer 2021/22, linking toward Flowtown
- High Voltage + Wishing Well + Flowtown: described as Victoria’s longest unbroken gravity ride, 535 m of descent, more than 10 km
- Other named combinations include Vortex into Jumpstart
- Shuttles (the 2026 page named Blue Dirt Mountain Biking) when operating; tickets from the Village Bike Cafe / Slalom Car Park
- Event weekends can close trails — read the trail report
- Gravel options on the Bogong High Plains, including Rocky Valley Lake Return and Spion Kopje Return
Victoria’s High Country summarises the park as open November–April and mentions newer shuttle-fed lines: Skyline, Downtown, Heavy Metal.
The 2019 tour page already named Wishing Well, High Voltage and Frying Pan. We keep those names only where the current resort map still prints them.
This is not a Melbourne day. It is a season decision. Pair with Wild Week or skip it on a weekender.
Village logic
Falls Creek’s advantage, in the resort’s own words, is that trails start and finish in the village. Getting lost on a green run still returns you to coffee. That is a different psychology from the Australian Alpine Epic at Buller, which dumps you toward Mirimbah.
The 70 percent “most riders prefer green and blue” line on the Falls page is their research claim, not ours. What we will repeat is the design consequence they state: more than ten kilometres was built for new riders on purpose.
The long descent
High Voltage, Wishing Well and Flowtown as a stacked 535-metre, 10-kilometre gravity combination is the sentence the 2019 tour was already reaching for when it named those trails. It is still an advanced-leaning treat, not a first-chair warm-up. Skyline into Flowtown is the newer showcase the resort wants intermediates to graduate toward.
Shuttles are a business with hours. Event weekends close trails. Shoulder season closes the park. None of that is personal.
